Ann Kennedy, LSET
Ann is a Licensed Special Education Teacher. She earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education from American University, with an emphasis on Learning Disabilities. Ann has spent over 20 years as a classroom teacher, teaching learning disabled students on the high school level. As a special education classroom teacher, Ann focused on teaching math to learning disabled students employing strategies which enabled students to succeed.
In addition to her years teaching special education in a private school Ann brings to Northstar experience teaching Special Education on the high school level with Montgomery County Public Schools, where she was responsible for writing IEP’s and evaluating student progress.
Prior to earning a Master’s Degree in Special Education, Ann worked as a Mental Health Counselor at Georgetown University Hospital. She also enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with College students for several years as a Resident Director. She believes in meeting students where they are and taking them as far as they can go academically. She loves teaching and learning and she believes success is one of the greatest motivators for youth who are struggling academically.
