Albert Bander, LGPC
Albert is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor. He received his Master’s in Counseling from Capella University and is also a licensed School Counselor in the State of Maryland. Last year Albert completed his Practicum and Internship in the inner-city of Baltimore working in a school where he counseled students, developed psycho-educational programming for the community, and worked to better the lives of the families by helping them learn family communication skills, anger management, and positive self-image.
Albert also works with Jewish Women International (JWI) helping them engage men and boys as allies to prevent violence against women and girls. Previously Albert worked as a high school teacher in a private girls high school in Baltimore and as an assistant to a Rabbi counseling families and individuals in a pastoral way.
Albert believes in a “heart and mind” approach to engaging with clients. For some people, they appreciate a more intellectual approach to dealing with their challenges. That may include therapies such as CBT, DBT, reality therapy, or existential psychotherapy. And for others, they appreciate a more humanistic or “heart” approach which includes person-centered, motivational interviewing, humanistic, logotherapy, or positive psychology. Whatever your preference, Albert is passionate about helping people and families achieve their goals, deal with their challenges, and flourish in a better way.
