NorthStar’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers 3-4 hours of treatment four afternoons a week, by a team of highly trained therapists.
Students receive individual, as well as group, therapy.
NorthStar’s IOP offers students after-school support, four afternoons a week, with a team including a psychiatrist, master-level therapists, and education team, and coach/mentors. Students receive individual, as well as group, therapy including: dialectical behavior (DBT) skills, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), life and social skills, experiential therapies (e.g. music, art, and recreation therapies), mindfulness/yoga, as well as emotional healing and recovery/12-step supports. Parents are active participants in treatment, attending parent group and multi-family group therapy, and individual family therapy on an as needed basis.
Students Appropriate for this Level of Care:
- Will have a primary behavioral health diagnosis (mental health and/or substance use) that interferes with daily functioning in school and/or at home.
- Are transitioning from NorthStar day treatment/PHP or other partial hospitalization program (PHP).
- Are transitioning from a residential/wilderness/hospital admission and do not require a PHP level of care.
- Are able to attend and benefit from school but require more structured clinical support.
