Our Program
Therapeutic Activities
All of our students are assigned a Master's level Primary Therapist who meets with each student on their caseload both individually and in primary group. The therapist is an active part of the NorthStar community and is accessible to the student.
Education @ Northstar Academy
NorthStar Academy seeks to foster the academic success of every student we serve by providing the supplemental resources necessary to allow them to maintain themselves within the curriculum of their home school or APEX Learning while attending the NorthStar program.
The NorthStar Student
NorthStar students generally are teenagers who have attended wilderness/residential or short-term hospital stay treatment programs OR students who are struggling either at home, in school and/or with peers.
Day Treatment Program (PHP)
Northstar offers a day treatment program in a warm and supportive environment. At this level of care, students reside in their home while attending our full-day treatment program.
After School Program (IOP)
NorthStar’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers 3-4 hours of treatment four afternoons a week, by a team of highly trained therapists. Students receive individual, as well as group, therapy.
Adolescent Therapeutic community
Harnessing the positive power of the peer group to create and maintain a therapeutic environment.
Evidence-Based Treatment
NorthStar Academy incorporates evidence-based strategies and therapies throughout our program.
